Distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks flood your server with junk traffic in an attempt to knock it offline. In gaming, this means disconnected players, unplayable lag, or a server that won’t respond at all. Sculk Hosting’s enterprise-grade mitigation runs automatically in front of every server we provision — so you’re protected the moment your server goes live, without any configuration on your part.Documentation Index

Always-on protection
There is no toggle, no protection tier to upgrade, and no ticket to file. Mitigation is active on your server’s IP address from the first second it’s online. You don’t need to do anything to enable DDoS protection. It’s included with every Sculk Hosting plan across all regions.
What “enterprise-grade mitigation” means for you
Enterprise-grade mitigation means your traffic passes through Sculk’s scrubbing infrastructure before it ever reaches your game server. Malicious packets are identified and filtered out while legitimate player traffic continues through uninterrupted.Traffic scrubbing
Inbound traffic is analysed in real time. Attack packets are dropped before they reach your server.
Always-on filtering
Protection runs continuously — not just when an attack is detected. There’s no “warm-up” delay.
10 Gbps uplinks
High-capacity uplinks at every node give the network room to absorb large traffic spikes.
Players stay connected
During most attacks, your players won’t notice anything. The server keeps running as normal.
What happens during an attack
When an attack hits, Sculk’s mitigation layer identifies the abnormal traffic pattern and begins filtering it automatically. For the vast majority of attacks, this happens fast enough that your players experience no disruption.DDoS protection cannot stop every attack. Very large or sustained attacks may cause brief disruption even with mitigation active. If your server becomes unreachable, check the service status page at my.sculkhosting.com/status to see whether a network event is affecting your region.
Acceptable use
Sculk’s infrastructure is shared across all customers. To keep the network healthy for everyone, the following are prohibited under our Acceptable Use Policy:- Intentionally attracting DDoS attacks to your server or Sculk’s network
- Running booter, stresser, or IP stresser services on your server
- Using any Sculk infrastructure to launch attacks against other networks or services
If you’re experiencing disruption
Unusual latency or repeated disconnections don’t always mean an attack is in progress. Before contacting support, check a few things:Check the status page
Visit my.sculkhosting.com/status to see whether there’s a known network event affecting your server’s region.
Review your server console
Log in to panel.sculkhosting.com and open the console to check for server-side errors such as out-of-memory or crash loops.
Contact support
If the status page shows no issues and your server looks healthy, reach out to our team at support@sculkhosting.com or join us on Discord. We have human support available 24/7.
