Plugins, mods, and modpacks

The Sculk panel adapts its management tools to the server software you run.

Plugins

Plugins run on server software such as Paper or Purpur. Install compatible .jar files into the plugins folder, then restart the server. Configure installed plugins from their generated folders.

Mods

Mods require a loader such as Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge. Upload compatible mod files into the mods folder. In most cases, every player must install the same loader, Minecraft version, and client-side mod set.

Modpacks

A modpack bundles a tested set of mods and configurations. Use the panel’s modpack installer when available, or upload the pack’s server files through SFTP.
It is currently not possible to use both Plugins and Mods reliably on a server at the same time

Compatibility checklist

  • Minecraft version matches
  • Correct loader and loader version
  • Required dependencies are installed
  • Client and server mod lists agree
  • Enough memory is allocated for the pack
